This beautiful antique French edition of The Koran was published in 1873. It features a full vellum binding with ornate gilt decoration to the spine and red tinted text block edges.
The book is in good condition but there is significant soiling and marking to the cream vellum. The spine is darkened and the spine ends are crushed.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully marbled but do show some tanning. The pages are clean and bright with only light age toning and sporadic foxing. The paper is very thin and the pages are rippled.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in bubble wrap, patterned wallpaper and string.
