This beautiful edition of The Poetical Works of Mrs Felicia Hemans was published by E Moxon and Son. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be late Victorian.
It's bound in pale cream paper with intricate gilt decoration to the boards and spine. It's a book you need to look at closely to see all the exquisite detail. It's in good condition but there is some soiling and marking to the pale boards and spine. The corners are worn and lightly bumped and the spine ends show a little loss to the surface of the paper; there is also very slight splitting to the edges of the joints.
Inside, there are no inscriptions but the preliminary pages show a small stain to the top edge of the pages. The pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout
Dimensions approximately 18cm x 12.3cm x 2.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
