This stunning little edition of The Compliments of the Season or Words for All Times was published by Walter Scott. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be late 19th Century or early 20th Century. It features a collection of quotations, seasonal greetings and literary selections. It's bound in pale blue cloth with stunning gilt decoration blind stamped to the front and spine.
At the time of listing, I can find no other editions for sale online. It's in good condition, with slight warping to the boards and marking to the cloth. The spine is sunned and dulled.
Inside, there is cracking to the gutter at the title page but the pages remain securely bound. The pages are clean and bright with light age toning. The red tint to the text block edges has leaked slightly onto the page margins in places.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
