This beautiful 19th century edition of Lyrics, and Philippics by J.H.P was published by G Norman in 1864.
The book is bound in full burgundy Morocco with elaborate blind stamped decoration in gilt to the boards and spine. The delicate gilt on the boards features tiny pine cones and leaves, an unusual pattern for Victorian books. The spine features five raised bands and the edges of the text block are all gilt.
This lovely antique book is in good condition, but there is rubbing and slight crushing to the corners. The spine has quite a bit of wear to the leather, with some loss to the surface of the leather. There are some small bumps and chips to the board edges, and the boards have light scuffing and marking.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully marbled, and there is a written inscription on the back of the front free endpaper. Across from this, there is a neatly written name and date. The first few pages have significant foxing, but once you get past the title page, the pages show less foxing. There are some minor marks in places but the text is clear and bright.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in biodegradable bubble wrap, patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
