This stunning little antique edition of royal blue pebbled cloth was published by Simpkin, Marshall in 1859. So the book is from the Victorian era.
The book is bound in original blue pebbled cloth with embossed detail to the boards. The gilt title is surrounded by a central floral border and there is gilt title and decorations to spine. It's in very good condition, but wear and crushing to the corners has caused slight splitting in the cloth. There is wear to the spine edges and ends - this has caused minor splitting at the spine ends. There is light marking to the cloth.
Inside, there are no inscriptions but the pages do show discolouration and foxing. The pages haven't been cut properly (it's crazy to think no one has read the book in 165 years!) but I can separate these if you'd prefer.
Dimensions approximately 17.5cm x 11.5cm x 1cm.
The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
