This wonderful edition of Practical Piety or The Influence of Religion of the Heart on the Conduct of Life by Hannah More was published by H G Bohn in 1852. So the book is from the earlier part of the Victorian era. It's bound in original brown cloth with gilt lettering to the front and spine.
It's in very good condition, but there is soiling and marking to the cloth, as well as light rubbing to the corners. The spine is darkened, with crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is cracking to the hinges but the pages remain tightly bound. There are no inscriptions or writings of any kind. The pages show light age toning throughout with occasional finger marks.
Dimensions of each volume approximately 17.3cm x 11.5cm x 2.2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
