This beautiful antique edition of The Poetical Works of William Cowper was published T Nelson and Sons in 1855. It features a full Morocco leather binding with ornate gilt decoration and blind stamping to the boards and spine. The spine has five raised bands and the text block edges are all gilt.
It's in very good condition with light sunning and chipping to the spine. The corners and board edges show light wear and chipping to the surface of the leather.
Inside, this luxurious binding features gilt inner dentelles. A hand written and illustrated ownership page has been glued in just after the FFEP - it's really striking and illuminated in gold. The pages show age toning and foxing throughout.
There are beautiful black and white plates inside, each with it's own tissue guard.
