This stunning French book Percheron Fils features a beautiful and romantic binding known as a Cartonnage binding. The book was published in 1875. These bindings have become increasingly popular over the past couple of years due to the incredible workmanship that has gone into the binding. They're little works of art.
The book is in good condition but there is wear and loss to the spine ends. The spine is also noticeably sunned and dulled. There is light marking and discolouration to the boards, and wear to the board edges.
Inside, there is a presentation plate partly glued to the front pastedown. The pages show foxing throughout.
Dimensions approximately 18.5cm x 11.2cm x 1.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
