This stunning and scarce edition of The Etiquette of Love, Courtship and Marriage to which is added the Etiquette of Politeness was published by Milner and Sowerby in 1853. It is a Victorian guide detailing strict social codes for courting couples and guides them through to married life and the etiquette of living together and hosting.
It's a little book bound in red cloth with gilt to the front and spine. All edges gilt. It's in very good condition, with light wear to the corners and marking to the back board (including some small ink stains). The spine is sunned, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is some marking to the endpapers and a faint penned name to the front pastedown. The pages show age toning throughout with scattered foxing. The binding is pulling slightly at the title page but the pages remain tightly bound. There is one hand coloured plate in the form of the frontispiece.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
