This lovely early Victorian edition of The Tree Rose contains Instructions for it's Formation and Culture by A.H.B in 1845. The book is bound in original green cloth with gilt decoration to the front board.
It's in good condition but there is splitting and loss to the cloth at the spine ends. The corners are worn and lightly crushed; the boards show light marking and fading. The spine is faded and discoloured, with some holes and small splits to the back joint.
Inside, there is slight cracking to the hinges but the pages remain tightly bound. There is a name written on the front pastedown. The pages show age toning and foxing throughout. There is staining to the last page of the preface and first page of the introduction. The book features 24 woodcut illustrations.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
