This beautiful antique edition of The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments was published in 1851 and features original full Morocco binding. All edges are gilt and the book has a brass clasp with the original owner's initials engraved in the brass. What's particularly lovely about this edition is the multi strand page marker ribbon, complete with tassels, so several pages can be marked at once.
The book is in very good condition, but the leather does show some staining and discolouration. The corners and spine ends show light wear and sadly there is one tassel missing from the page marker ribbons. The top edge of the text block is a little dulled, with a small bump.
Inside, there is a small pen mark to the front pastedown and the pages show light age toning throughout, but the text is clear and bright. There are no written inscriptions. Dimensions approximately 12.8cm x 9cm x 4.2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
