This lovely early Victorian edition of The Floricultural Cabinet magazine was published in 1854 by Whittaker and Co. The book is bound in contemporary half calf with marbled paper boards. The spine features five raised bands and delicate gilt tooling.
It’s in very good condition wit’s light wear and scuffing to the boards. There are some small chips to the marbled paper and leather. The corners and board edges are worn with slight loss to the surface of the paper. The bottom corner of the front board is dented.
Inside, the pages are clean and bright with only occasional foxing (most prominent to the preliminary and end pages). There is some faint creasing to the paper in places.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
