This lovely edition of The Life and Times of the Late King George IV by Rev George Croly was published by James Duncan in 1830. It's bound in full calf and has been rebacked with a new leather spine. There are five raised bands to the spine and gilt tooling. Page edges are marbled.
It's in very good condition, with most wear being to the original leather boards - these show marking and chipping. There is a larger piece of leather peeling to the back board (this has been stuck down). The spine shows some scuffs and the top edge of the text block is dulled.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled and the pages are clean and bright with only occasional foxing. The frontispiece portrait has offset to the title page. There are some pencilled numbers to the verso of the FFEP.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
