The book has all sorts of "cures" and superstitions, advice and remedies. It's a fascinating read - taking one small chapter on Moles. Someone with moles on their hands and feet are destined to have lots of children. Moles on the neck and throat denotes riches and health. A mole on the belly predicts the person will have a great appetite.
It's been rebound in quarter calf with marbled paper boards. There are five raised bands to the spine and gilt tooling, along with a burgundy leather title label. It's in very good condition, with light wear to the board edges and corners. The leather shows minor scuffing.
Inside, there are new endpapers and no half title page. The pages show age toning and heavy foxing throughout, with occasional small ink stains. There is a little loss to the edge of the title page and occasional chips to the page edges. Someone has also used a pen in the margin (usually a cross) to highlight passages. There are also two pages with penned words in the margin. Page 25 has a small tear to the edge. There is some loss to the bottom pages of the back index and small tape repairs

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
