This beautiful vintage edition of The Language of Flowers contains A Journal and Record of Birthdays that the owner can fill in. Each date has space to write a few names. Each date is also assigned a flower with it's meaning, and a short sentence of verse. It was published by Ward, Lock and Co. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be from circa 1950's.
The book is bound in orange cloth with lettering to the front and spine. It's in very good condition. There is a small area of fading to the spine where a piece of the DJ is missing. The text block edges show foxing and there is some wear and tear to the edges of the DJ. The paper DJ shows some soiling and foxing.
Inside, the pages show light age toning and occasional foxing. There is one black and white illustration.
Dimensions approximately 12.4cm x 10cm x 2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
