This lovely and rare edition of The Flowers I Love features a series of 24 drawings in colour by Katharine Cameron and an anthology of Flower Poems by Edward Thomas. It was published by TC and EC Jack. The book is undated but after some research, I've managed to date it to circa 1916.
This scarce and stunning book is quarter bound in cloth with paper covered boards. The front and spine are decorated in gilt. It's in very good condition with just slight bumping to the corners and board edges. The back board shows a long scuff mark and some fading near the top. The spine is faded and there is fraying to the silk.
Inside, the free endpapers are tanned and there is a name in pencil to the top of the front free endpaper. The rest of the pages are clean and bright. There are 24 tipped in colour plates, with a selection of carefully chosen flower poems to accompany them.
Dimensions approximately 27cm x 19cm x 2.8cm.
The books will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
