This beautiful edition of Songs of Childhood by Walter de la Mare was published by Longmans, Green and Co in 1923. There is no dust jacket. It's bound in navy cloth with gilt detail to the front and spine.
It's in very good condition with light rubbing to the corners and minor marks to the cloth. There is light bumping to the board edges and sunning to the spine. The spine ends are crushed.
Inside, there is tanning to the endpapers (particularly the free endpapers) but the rest of the pages show lighter age toning and occasional foxing. The tissue guards for the plates are tanned.
The book features stunning colour plates by Estella Canziani. There are also black and white plates and illustrations within the text.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
