This beautiful antique edition of The Professor by Charlotte Bronte also features the Poems of the Bronte Sisters and was published by Smith Elder and Co in 1900. So the book is from the late Victorian era. It was part of the Haworth edition and would once have been part of a complete set of the Bronte Sisters works. There are beautiful black and white illustration plates inside which make it an extra special read.
The book is bound in half leather with five raised bands to the spine and delicate gilt detail. It's in very good condition with the most noticeable wear being to the spine - this shows light sunning and rubbing to the leather. The leather corners have some small scuffs and chips, and there is minor foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled but age toned. The rest of the pages are clean and bright with only occasional foxing. Some of the page edges are a little jagged - they may have been uncut and then separated by a previous reader.

The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
