This lovely full Morocco leather edition of A Selection from the Poems of John Greenleaf Whittier was published in 1901 by George Routlege & Sons. It's been housed In a beautiful arts and crafts binding that is unsigned - it may have been done a student but it's been done to a very high standard - the binding is beautiful. There are gilt hearts to the boards and spine.
It's in very good condition with just light wear to the corners and sunning to the spine. There is some loss to the surface of the leather along the spine edges and to the spine ends and raised bands. There is a small split starting to the top of the back joint.
Inside, there is tanning to the first few and last few pages but the rest of the pages are bright with only light age toning.
Dimensions approximately 12.3cm x 8.7cm x 1.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
