This beautiful antique edition of The Seasons and The Castle of Indolence by James Thomson was published by W.Kent and Co in 1859. It is bound in blue cloth with blind stamped decoration and gold gilt to the boards and spine. The text block edges are gold gilt.
It's in very good condition for it's age but the corners do show light rubbing and crushing. The board edges are also lightly rubbed and there is fading to the spine. The spine edges are worn and crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting in the cloth. There are also some small white marks to the spine.
Inside, the hinges are cracked but the pages remain tightly bound. There is a written inscription on the front free endpaper and the pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing.
There are beautiful black and white illustrations inside which make this old edition even more special.+

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
