This beautiful vintage edition of The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas was published by London & Glasgow, Collins Clear Type Press. There is no date inside but from other books I've seen in the series that have had the date written in, I estimate the book to be from between 1910 and 1930. The burgundy leatherette boards have a hammered effect. All edges are gilt.
The book is in good condition but there is a slight warp to the book and the board edges show wear and minor loss to the surface of the leatherette. There is some marking and soiling to the faux leather and the spine is lightly sunned. The spine ends are worn, with some loss to the surface of the leatherette, and there is a small split to the tail of the spine.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and slight cracking to the gutter just after the half title page. The pages show age toning throughout, with sporadic foxing.
Book Size: 18.3cm x 13cm x 3.5cm (Approx.)
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
