This lovely first edition of Sleeping Beauty was published by William Heinemann circa 1920. It's a sought after binding because of the striking illustrations by Arthur Rackham.
***Please Note that the book is missing the colour plate of Briar Rose and the front free endpaper.***
The book is bound in original red cloth-backed with pink, cream, and black pictorial boards. It's in good condition but the most important condition points to be aware of are mentioned above. There is some minor marking and soiling to the boards. The corners are worn and crushed, and split slightly to reveal the board beneath.
Inside, the pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing throughout but are in good, antique condition. There are stunning colour plates by Arthur Rackham. Approximately 25.5cm x 19cm x 1.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
