This beautiful vintage edition of Baron and Squire by S.M.S Clarke was published by James Nisbet & Co Ltd. The book itself isn't dated but there is a presentation plate inside dated 1910. So the book is from the end of the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in blue cloth with beautiful pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition, with only minor rubbing to the corners and light marking to the boards. The spine is faintly sunned, with crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and the pages show age toning and occasional foxing. Some of the page edges are very jagged - it appears that some of the pages may have been uncut and a past reader separated them by hand. Pages 11 - 16 have loss to the top corner which just reaches the text.
Dimensions approximately 20.3cm x 14.3cm x 3.2cm.
The books will be posted hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
