This beautiful vintage edition of Little Women and Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott was published by James Nisbet & Co Ltd. The book is undated but there is a written inscription dated 1914. So the book is likely to be from the end of the Edwardian era or just after.
The book is bound in blue cloth with blind stamped art nouveau decoration to the front board and spine. It's in good condition with the most noticeable flaw being the fading and rubbing to the spine. There is also fading to the top of the back board and some sunning to the whole of the front board. There is foxing to the text block edges and minor marks to the cloth in places. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper. The pages have age toning throughout with scattered foxing.
Dimensions approximately 20.3cm x 14cm x 4.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% oxo-degradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
