This beautiful edition of Averil by Rosa N Carey was published by The Office of the Girl's Own Paper. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be circa 1900/1910. It is bound in brown cloth, with beautiful pictorial decoration to the front board and spine.
It's in very good condition, with just light marking and soiling to the boards. The spine ends are crushed and there is some foxing and toning to the text block edges.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully illustrated but there is tanning to the endpapers. The pages show age toning and foxing throughout. There are some other more occasional marks.
Dimensions approximately 19.5cm x 13.5cm x 3.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-odegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
