This beautiful edition of The House of Walderne By A D Crake was published by Longmans, Green, and Co in 1898 - so the book is from the latter part of the Victorian era. It's bound in red cloth with black and gilt decoration to the front board and spine. It's a striking binding, with a shield, sword and quiver of arrows to the front board, and a shield with two crossed swords and a helmet to the spine.
It's in very good condition with only some minor foxing to the text block edges and two small marks to the back board. The spine is lightly sunned and rubbed.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front free endpaper and the pages show light age toning and occasional foxing.
Dimensions of the book are approximately 17.3cm x 12.5cm x 2.5cm.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
