This scarce edition of The Book of Flowers by Katherine Tynan and Frances Maitland was published by Smith, Elder and Co in 1909. So the book is from the latter part of the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in green cloth with stunning gilt decoration to the front cover and spine. It's in very good condition with light sunning to the spine and bumping to the bottom corners. There is crushing to the spine ends and this has caused minor splitting to the head of the spine. The boards show minor marks and there is light foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, the endpapers show some toning but the pages are clean and bright.
Dimensions approximately 17cm x 11cm x 1.2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
