This lovely edition of Gods and Heroes of the Greeks by HJ Rose was published by Methuen and Co in 1957. The book features a school prize binding - bound in quarter leather with gilt tooling to the spine and a blind stamped school insignia to the front board.
It's in very good condition with just light rubbing to the corners and minor marks to the boards. The back board has a large scuff mark. There is soiling/marking to the top edge of the text block.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully marbled and there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown. The pages have light age toning but are otherwise clean and bright.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 12.8cm x 2.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
