This stunning antique edition of Miranda of the Balcony by A E W Mason was published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1925. It features a school prize binding of full calf, with gilt tooling and five raised bands to the spine. The text block edges are marbled and there is a school insignia blind stamped in gilt to the front.
It's in very good condition but there is light sunning to the spine and loss to the leather at the head of the spine. The corners and board edges are rubbed, with fading to the board edges. The leather shows some minor scuffs and marks and there is loss to the surface of the leather along the spine edges. There is uneven fading to the marbled text block edges.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled and there is a presentation plate glued to the front free endpaper. The pages are clean and bright with occasional foxing.
Dimensions approximately 16.7cm x 11.2cm x 2.6cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is either oxo-degradable (pale green in colour) or upcycled from deliveries I've had (this is clear and fully recyclable). The jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
