This beautiful edition of Holiday Excursions of A Naturalist by Robert Garner forms a Guide Book to the Natural History of the Inland and Littoral. It was published by Robert Hardwicke in 1867. It's been rebound by an amateur in contemporary full leather with gilt floral motifs to the front and spine. Gilt lettered leather title label to spine. Two triangles of leather can be seen to the back - I'm not sure what this was for. First Edition.
It's in very good condition with slight fading to the spine and to areas of the boards. There is scuffing to the leather and the back board shows a small bump.
Inside, there are new endpapers and slight splitting to the front hinge. The pages are clean and bright with very occasional marks to the paper and chips to the page edges.
Dimensions of the book are approximately 19.8cm 13.7cm x 2.9cm.
The book will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
