This stunning French edition of the Language of Flowers features beautiful gilt and colour decoration to the boards and spine. It was published in 1858 in Paris. All edges are gilt. It's a beautiful antiquarian book and in very good condition. There is light wear and crushing to the corners which has caused splitting in the cloth. There is minor marking to the boards and light shelf wear to the board edges. There is some slight damage to the front board where a small area of the green and gilt decoration is missing.
Inside, there is a written inscription on one of the preliminary blank pages. The pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout. Sadly one colour plate (the frontispiece) is missing.
Dimensions approximately 18.3cm x 12cm x 2.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
