This lovely first edition of The Dean's Watch by Elizabeth Goudge was published in 1960 by Hodder and Stoughton. The book still has it's original dust jacket which is protected by clear plastic.
The book is in very good condition for it's age, but the DJ has some age toning and soiling to the paper. There is also wear to the edges and corners.
Inside, the DJ is unclipped but someone has written their name and a date at the bottom of the front flap (something I've not seen before!). There is also a faint date to the top of the FFEP. The pages are clean and bright with very light age toning and there is some foxing to the text block edges.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 14.8cm x 3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
