This lovely First Edition of First Edition Expiation by Elizabeth Von Arnim was published by Macmillan and Co in 1929. So the book is almost 100 years old.
Elizabeth Von Arnim was a prolific author and is probably best known for The Enchanted April and Elizabeth and her German Garden. Her humorous writing make for delightful reading.
It's in very good condition with rubbing to the spine edges and light sunning to the spine. Crushing to the spine ends has caused some minor splitting in the cloth. The back board has some small marks.
Inside, the pages show some light toning and occasional minor marking. There is no foxing and the paper is clean and bright.
Dimensions approximately 20.5cm x 14cm x 3.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
