This lovely edition of Edmund Dulac's Fairy Book contains the Fairy Tales of the Allied Nations - Russia, England, Italy, Belgium, France and more. It was written during the First World War and published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1916. First Edition Thus.
It's in good condition but there is light wear and bumping to the corners. The cloth shows some light marking and the spine is sunned and darkened. Crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting in the cloth and there are also occasional small splits in the cloth of the external joints. There is foxing to the text block edges and the boards are slightly bowed.
Inside, there is heavy cracking to the gutter, making the text block very shaky. There is scattered foxing throughout, with sporadic handling marks. The beautiful tipped in colour plates by Edmund Dulac are what make this book particularly special. He was from the Golden Age of illustrators.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
