This beautiful, antique edition of the Indian Love by Laurence Hope was published by William Heinemann in 1905. So the book is from the mid Edwardian era.
It's finely bound in half vellum with delicate gilt decoration in an art nouveau style to the spine. The boards are bound in blue cloth. It's a very attractive binding and in very good condition for it's age. There is light marking to the boards and minor soiling to the vellum. The boards are slightly bowed.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled and what's really lovely is that a gentleman has used some of the blank pages at the front and back as his diary - logging the fairly innocent meetings and relationships he had with different women. The pages show light age toning throughout, with occasional marking and foxing. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is tanned.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
