This stunning little edition of Routledge's Etiquette for Ladies was published by George Routledge and Sons. The book is undated but after some research, I'd estimate it to be from the mid Victorian era (circa 1870).
It's a tiny little book bound in cloth with flexible covers. There is blind stamped decoration in gilt to the front cover. It's in good condition but there is wear to the corners and edges, with some small chips in the cloth. The cloth is lightly soiled and rubbed, with creasing to the back cover; there is minor loss to the spine ends.
Inside, there is very slight cracking to the front hinge and to the gutter in places throughout the book. One page segment feels a little loose. The pages show age toning and sporadic foxing/marking; sadly there is a vertical split to the title page near the hinge.
Dimensions Approximately 9.4cm x 6.8cm x 1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
