This scarce and pretty edition of Northanger Abbey and Persuasion by Jane Austen was published by George Routledge and Sons. The book itself isn't dated but I'd estimate it to be from the late Victorian period.
The book is bound in grey cloth with blind stamped decorative detail to the front board and spine. It's in good condition for it's age but there are signs of wear. There is some light soiling to the boards and minor marks to the cloth. There is a faint stain to the bottom of the back board and a small dent to the top edge. The corners have some light wear. The spine is noticeably darkened, with crushing to the spine ends.
Inside there is a name plate on the front endpaper and the pages have some noticeable foxing. The text remains clear and bright. There is one illustration inside.
Due to the value and rarity of this book, it will be sent with full tracking.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 3cm.
The book will arrive gift wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
