This treasure of a book features a collection of diary entries, poems and quotes, and starts during someone's sojourn in Rome. The book is dated 1894 and continues over several years. It features a beautiful hand painted floral binding.
It's in good condition, but the cream binding does show soiling and there is some rubbing to the hand painted decoration. The spine is particularly soiled and darkened. The book also shows a slight backward lean. The text block edges are tinted red.
Only a third of the pages inside are filled and a few pages appear to have been removed (there is a crack to the gutter here and a loose page). The writing changes partway through so appears to have been taken over by someone else. The first entry is dated 1894. The pages show some age toning and occasional foxing.
Dimensions approximately 20cm x 13.5cm x 2.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
