This beautiful second edition of The Ideal Garden by H.H.Thomas was published by Cassell and Company Ltd in 1910. This lovely vintage book is bound in green cloth with ornate decoration to the front board and spine. It's in good condition for it's age but there are a few condition points of note. There is light wear and crushing to the corners and foxing to the text block edges. There is light shelf wear to the board edges and some scuff marks to the back board. The spine is a bit sunned, with rubbing to the spine edges and crushing to the spine ends - this has caused splitting in the cloth at the spine ends.
Inside, there is name plate and written dedication on the front pastedown. The endpapers are tanned and the pages show significant foxing throughout. The text block is a little shaky, with cracking to the gutter in places, but there are no loose pages.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 15cm x 4cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
