This beautiful First Edition of The Great Sea Horse by Isabel Anderson was published by Little Brown and Company in 1909. So the book is from the latter part of the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in red cloth with gold gilt decoration blind stamped to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition for it's age with light wear to the corners and fraying to the cloth. The boards and spine show some small marks and there is fading to the spine. There is crushing to the spine which has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the hinges are cracked, making the boards feel a little loose but the pages remain tightly bound. The pages are clean and bright with no inscriptions or dedications. There is some age toning and occasional foxing/marking to the pages. There is creasing to some of the tissue guards and some are missing.
The book features a huge collection of colour illustration plates by H.R.Millar throughout.
