This beautiful and unique edition of the Book of Common Prayer was published by Oxford University Press. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be circa 1910. It is bound in full vellum with a yapp binding, and has hand painted detail to the front. There is a velvet ribbon tie but this is sadly missing from the front from overuse and the back tie is frayed.
It's in good condition but there is some marking and staining to the vellum, with rubbing to the writing on the spine. The vellum is darkened and toned
Inside, the endpapers have a floral pattern, illuminated in gilt. The pages show age toning throughout, with occasional marking but are in good antique condition.
There is one black and white frontispiece.
Dimensions approximately 6cm x 5.5cm x 1.5cm.
Every book purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned paper and ribbon.
I try to use eco friendly packaging wherever possible. This includes 100% recycled jiffy bags, biodegradable bubble wrap, and paper offcuts from the newspaper industry.
