This beautiful, antique edition of Coridon's Song and Other Verses was published in 1894 by Macmillan and Co. So the book is from the latter part of the Victorian era.
The book is bound in teal cloth with elaborate gold gilt detailing to the front board and spine. It's a real beauty and the gold gilt compliments the teal cloth superbly. It's in remarkably good condition for it's age, but there is light wear and crushing to the corners and minor marking to the back board. The spine ends are crushed.
Inside, the pages show sporadic foxing and the paper is lightly toned. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is very tanned. The pages are bright and the illustrations by Hugh Thomson add to the charm of this Victorian book.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
