This beautiful, antique edition of Coridon's Song and Other Verses was published in 1894 by Macmillan and Co. So the book is from the latter part of the Victorian era.
The book is bound in teal cloth with elaborate gilt detailing to the front board and spine. It was part of the Cranford Series by Macmillan and has become very sought after with collector's It's a real beauty and the gilt compliments the teal cloth superbly. It's in very good condition and has been given a clear plastic cover to keep it so. The book has a slight forward lean and there is minor rubbing to the gilt on the spine.
Inside, there is a small area of loss to the bottom edge of the front free endpaper but there are no inscriptions. The pages show age toning and foxing throughout with occasional cracks to the gutter (the pages remain tightly bound). The tissue guard for the frontispiece is detached and very tanned, with some wear and tear to the edge. The illustrations by Hugh Thomson add to the charm of this Victorian book.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
