This beautiful antique book contains both Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte and Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte and was published by Smith, Elder and Co in 1879. Bound in original publisher's cloth.
Externally, the book is in good condition and the cloth is still a bright green with clear gilt. The book shows a slight forward lean and wear to the corners has caused minor splitting in the cloth. There is light marking to the cloth and some slight air bubbling in places. There is a small bump to the top edge of the back board. The spine is faintly darkened, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth - there is a slightly larger split to the top of the front hinge (approx 1.2cm).
Inside, the hinges are cracked and fragile but all pages remain tightly bound. There is a neatly written inscription on the front free endpaper. The pages show light age toning and occasional foxing but are otherwise clean and bright.
Dimensions approximately 17.2cm x 12cm x 2.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
