This lovely little antique edition of Flowers: Their Moral, Language and Poetry was published by Milner and Company in 1856. So the book is from the earlier part of the Victorian era.
The book is bound in blue cloth with delicate gilt detail to the front board and spine. It's in near fine condition, with only light wear and crushing to the corners. The boards show minor marks and rubbing, and the spine is very faintly darkened.
Inside, the pages show age toning and scattered foxing. There are no inscriptions or writings of any kind. There is one hand coloured plate for the frontispiece and a few black and white plates scattered through the book. One page segment feels a little loose but is still attached.
Dimensions approximately 13.8cm x 9cm x 2.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
