This little treasure of a book features a collection of sketches, paintings, poetry and rhymes from different people (there are several names written in the book). It was gifted in 1909, towards the end of the Edwardian era. The various drawings, paintings and poems date from between 1909 and 1917.
The book is absolutely beautiful, with cushioned boards and floral patterned paper covering the board. It's in good condition for its age, but there is some wear to the corners and board edges, with loss and peeling to the paper. The boards show marks and soiling. The paper is split along the bottom edge of the back board.
Inside, the book features moiré silk endpapers and a real mixture of media fill the pages. There are also some blank pages. The book was a Christmas gift in 1909.
Dimensions approximately 20cm x 12.5cm x 1.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
