This beautiful vintage edition of Hereward the Wake By Charles Kingsley was published by James Nisbet & Co Ltd in 1908.
The book is bound in pink cloth over bevelled boards with stunning art nouveau floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition with only light wear to the corners and minor marking to the boards. The gilt text block edges show some scuffing, whilst the spine shows very faint sunning and marking.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and tanning to the endpapers. The rest of the pages and occasional marking. There is some smoky staining to the preliminary pages.
Dimensions approximately 20cm x 14cm x 4.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
