This lovely antique book of The Poetical Works of Oliver Goldsmith was published by W Kent and Co in 1859.
The book is bound in pebbled purple cloth (an unusual colour for Victorian book) with blind stamped gilt to the front board and spine. It's in good condition, with the most noticeable flaw being the fading to the spine and board edges. The corners are lightly worn and there is some light marking and discolouration to the boards. There is some soiling to the spine; crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, the pages show age toning and sporadic foxing and marking. The pages remain tightly bound and there are beautiful black and white illustrations throughout.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
