This beautiful edition of Agathos and the Rocky Island by Samuel Wilberforce was published by Seeley and Co in 1908. So the book is from the Edwardian era. The book is bound in green cloth with striking floral decoration and gilt to the front board and spine. It's got quite an art nouveau feel to it.
This pretty book is in very good condition with the main condition point being the sunning and discolouration to the spine. There is light wear to the corners and foxing to the text block edges. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there are no inscriptions and the pages show only light age toning and sporadic foxing. There are occasional cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
