This sweet set of two books by Blackie and Son have beautiful floral art nouveau bindings. They're vary slightly in colour. Doris's High School Days and The Battlefield Treasure are both undated - but I'd estimate them to be from the early 20th century.
The books are in good condition but there is some wear and scratching to the decoration The Battlefield Treasure is in better condition whereas Doris's High School Days also shows sunning to the spine and splitting to the top of the back joint. There is minor marking to the cloth
Inside, the FFEP has been removed from Doris's High School Days so the book opens onto the half title page. The Battlefield Treasure shows quite heavy foxing throughout. There are occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound in both volumes.
Each book measures approximately 18.4cm x 13.4cm x 2.8cm.
The books will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
